Hi Zouleikha,

Sorry, for the long silence. I changed the OpNovice example so the air bubble has replicated layers and attached the skin-surface to the layers instead of the whole bubble:

// The Air Bubble Layer

  G4Box* layerS = new G4Box("Layer",fBubble_x,fBubble_y,fBubble_z/10.);

  G4LogicalVolume* layerLV = new G4LogicalVolume(layerS,air,"Layer");

  new G4PVReplica("Layer",layerLV,bubbleAir_log,kZAxis,10,2.*fBubble_z/10.);

...

  G4LogicalSkinSurface* airSurface =
          new G4LogicalSkinSurface("AirSurface", layerLV, opAirSurface);

The surface works for me with these replicated volumes.

Can you please simplify your geometry to the minimum to show your problem with replicated volumes and send it to me.
