Question Confusion about optical photon process

Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons
Date: 22 Jul, 2014
From: Rajan <Rajan>

1. Does optical photon process have to be associated with Absorption, Raleigh, Mie or a Boundary Process? 2. Does photon polarization get orthogonalized to momentum direction by default in the above four processes? 3. If I do not use the above processes and still generate an optical photon using a photon generator (not Cerenkov or Scintillator), then do I have to set momentum orthogonal to polarization? 4. Why is that not done by default as is done in Raleigh, Mie or Boundary Process? Thanks
