Hi Nick,

Writing your DetectorConstruction and DetectorConstructionMessenger such that you can have multiple /run/beamOn in the command file while you change the geomerty in between them, both in terms of its dimensions and for the material that fills a volume, is a VERY tricky business.

Recompiling the code is much easier and safer - and less time consuming! Or at least, can you not just define the dimension etc at the beginning of the macro then have just one beamOn?

Something is not right in how you swipe and reestablish your geometry. I don't see who is calling UpdateGeom()

Please, see the LXe example and compare it carefully with your code.

Peter
