Question LogicalSkinSurface

Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons
Date: 10 Feb, 2014
From: Atsuko Kibayashi <Atsuko Kibayashi>

Dear Experts,

I would like to install photomultiplier tubes with different sizes in my water Cherenkov detector. So the natural way to go is to build Solid, Logical Volume and Physical Volume for each PMT size.

My problem is that I use LogicalSkinSurface to count the photons on the cathode in the PMT glass mother volume. However there is the limitation to it that I can only place one logical volume. Is that correct?

Maybe I can make different solids, having the same logical volume name and placing them in the SkinSurface. Is it possible? Can I call LogicalSkinSurface multiple times?

If anyone can give me any advice on this, I would appreciate it very much.

Best Regards, Atsuko Kibayashi
