in my simulations of a Cerenkov detector, I have a large amount of photons produced bouncing many many times before being finally detected. Due to a very large amount of reflections/bounces, the simulation is quite slow and I would like to increase its speed. For that, I was wondering if there is a way to generate photon according to a specific Quantum efficiency distribution (an example is attached). Instead of applying the efficiency when photons are detected, I would like to make it at the beginning to avoid to compute everything for the photons that are not detected finally... saving time.
