Question Optical properties - Rayleigh scattering length for plastic scintillator

Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons
Date: 13 Sep, 2013
From: Sam Blake <Sam Blake>

Hi everyone,

I'm modeling optical transport within plastic scintillators (with polystyrene and polyvinyltoluene bases specifically) however I'm having trouble finding a resource for the optical Rayleigh scattering length in these materials.

I was just wondering if anyone happened to know of either a relevant resource with this information, or perhaps a resource or particular method to calculate this scattering length from other properties/data that may be more accessible in the literature.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Cheers, Sam
