Question Cerenkov formula

Hi, I simulated 6MeV electron beam enter a water phantom then i plot the energy loss of the electron beam with z axis, and i plot the energy loss in Cerenkov process in each step with z axis. I found both plots are so similar which i couldn't explain. Where

dE/dx in Bethe formula proportional to 1/v^2

And dE/dx in Cerenkov formula is proportional to 1-1/v^2. (Which mean Cerenkov formula predict that when the velocity of the particle maximum the number of Cerenkov light produced is maximum)

Any thought would be appreciated.
