Question doubt regarding input properties in simulation

I'm simulating optical transport in human liver, and I have values of the medium optical properties (refractive index, absorption and scattering coefficients) just for 3 wavelengths, so I was wondering how Geant behaves with input parameters: does it interpolate or just approximate data for those values that are not given as input?

Here is an example.

Suppose I provide values of the absorption length as follows:

  G4double PhotonEnergies[num] = { 1.8*eV, 2.0*eV, 2.4*eV};
  G4double Absorption1[num] = {0.5*m, 0.3*m, 0.4*m};

What does it happen if an optical photon with an energy of 2.2 eV is generated? (The same question applies to photons with energies greater than 2.4 eV or lower than 1.8)

Does Geant choose the abs_length for the closest energy value (in this case is it 2.0 eV? Or 2.4 eV?), actually approximating the true abs_length value for 2.2 eV, or does it interpolate to determine the exact value for 2.2 eV?
