Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. I am not sure if you can enable other types of reflection like lobe reflection, backscattering (of photons), etc using the glisur model. But I do know that you can set suitable parameters to ensure these other types of reflection using the UNIFIED model. The application developers' manual and the other posts in this forum are really helpful in this regard.
Further, as far as I know, no energy is lost by the photon during reflection from a surface.
I had a (similar?) problem for my NaI_tl spectrum. Please refer to this post by me:
while the replies in the forum weren't the solution to the problem, I learnt later on that the output of geant is an IDEAL spectrum. So, there is no 'smearing' of the peak. As a result, the peak appears so high in comparison with the compton edge, that the net effect is that the compton edge is not recognizable. I am not sure if this is the problem with your spectrum, but I hope you can find something helpful. My plot is counts versus energy deposited (no optical photon count involved in plotting the graph).
Regarding why there is total internal reflection from world, I can't say anything without knowing your detector construction.
