Hello Peter,

Thanks for the reply. I realised why the photons were getting absorbed by the cladding- I had set the absorption length of the cladding to be the same as the fiber - 0.1mm. If I change that value, no absorption takes place.

But I would like to clarify one further point- generally WLS fibers are characterised by several parameters like trapping efficiency, reemission probability, etc. I would like to know how to set these values- or are they directly reflected in the refractive indices and absorption length data?
