Hi,

Using wavelength-independent quantities will not give you the best results, in general. You should consider including wavelength *dependent* spectra for at least:

1. the reflection coefficient 2. the PMT quantum efficiency 3. the scintillator refractive index 4. the absorption length of your scintillator 5. the emission spectrum of your scintillator

Photons of different wavelengths propagate differently. If you include these things, you will account for the different behavior in the center and edge of your scintillator. Basically, to see the minute effects you're looking for, you have to have a more physical model. Consider adding these things in one by one to see the effect of each.
