Question nonproportionality of scintillation light yield

Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons
Date: 31 May, 2011
From: Martin Goettlich <Martin Goettlich>

Dear experts,

for my simulation application it is essential that I take into account the nonproportionalty of the scintillation light yield (which is defined as the number of photons per MeV). For example: The scintillation light yield for 500 keV x-rays is 20000 photons/MeV but at 100 keV it is not 4000 but 2400 (i.e. 60% of the light yield you would expect if the scintillation light yield is linear). How may I realize this in GEANT4?

Cheers,

Martin
