even if you might not have the time, maybe you can have a look on another plot I made also investigating the surface parameters. This time for the specularspike constant ranging from 0 to 1, where specularlobe and backscatter are set to 0 and the diffuse lobe constant is varied accordingly to fulfill unity. I simulated 4 surfaces: one 'ground' (sigmaalpha=0.2, green line) and one 'polished' without any reflector and one 'groundbackpainted' (sigmaalpha=0.2, orange line) and one 'polishedbackpainted' (sigmaalpha=0.02, blue line). The polished surface is indicated by a black constant line, since all parameters are trumped. My setup is the same as before with a Cherenkov light producing sapphire tile and a MPPC readout opposite to the beam entrance in the middle of the tile. The primary positrons cross 3cm of material. What I don't understand is why for C_ss=1 the green line is not matching the value of a polished surface?! I checked twice if all parameters are set correctly, but I definitely would have expected another behavior. On the other hand one can see that for C_ss=1 a polished surface with a diffuse reflector can be simulated as you already suggested some time ago. Thanks again for your valuable feedback!!!
