In general, the emission spectrum of a wavelength shifter is different from the scintillator emission spectrum. That's usual the point of WLS. What you need to do is specify one spectrum that corresponds to the scintillator spectrum, another one that corresponds to the wavelength shifted photon spectrum (in terms of intensity, not some length scale). You then need to define a WLS absorption length for a photon energy range that can be just the spectrum range of the scintillator or could be large enough to cover both. In the latter case, you'll get reabsorption of the already shifted photons and re-emission. But usually the WLS absorption length of a WLS to its own photons is much larger than that for the scintillator spectrum.

You may also specify a 'bulk' absorption length over a certain photon energy regime. Photons absorbed by the bulk absoprtion process will not be WLS.
