Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. If you are only interested in one thread or the thread following a specific posting, click the thread or the posting, which takes you to a smaller page, which contains only the part you are interested in and may be easier to navigate.
Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.
Inline: Display the subject line only or also the text of the posting(s); for the choice "All" the "Outline" choices are switched off.

Hello, I'm a beginner of Geant4 and I'm trying to simulate a scintillator. My detector is constituted by an exagonal tube, each edge is a separate scintillator. To build it I'm creating a trapezoid, which is my mother volume, and inside it I place my scintillator (a smaller trapezoid) and a shit of teflon on the external surface, so that my mother volume is completely filled. Then I position it at different angles and I get a tube. The beam axis is the tube axis, and particles are emitted with a given theta with respect to the beam axis. I've implemented the scintillation process as described in the manual. Now I should make completely reflective the surface between the teflon and thi scintillator. I have chosen the optical surface dielectric_metal (Is it correct?) When I place only one copy of my mother volume everything works fine and my photons are reflected, but when I place more than one copy my photons are not reflected anymore by the teflon... Where am I wrong? Cannot I use mother volume copies when I have boundary processes? Is there an other way to do that? Thank you very much for your help Cheers Paola
