I've implemented the gamma detector (in order to detect the 15-30 MeV gammas). It's a pure CsI crystal wrapped in teflon which is followed by the PMT.
I would like to know what kind of tests (maybe together with some theoretical estimations ) could be done in order to be sure that the detector works properly. Are there some kind of standard tests which is usually done in such cases?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Could you please also explain what does "RISETIMECONSTANT" (one of the scintillators material property) stand for in the MaterialPropertiesTable? What is its physical meaning? As for me it is more the characteristic of the PMT, namely, the time needed for the output pulse to increase from 10 to 90 percent of the peak output pulse height.
