Question electron range cuts and Birk's constant

I noticed that the examples use value of 0.126mm/MeV for Birk's constant for liquid xenon and polystyrene. How is Birk's attenuation of scintillation light affected by the electron range cuts in the scintillator? (does it have to be significantly smaller than 0.126mm?).

Thanks, Aram
