Hi Ron,

The optical photons are sampled in energy. The sampled photon energy distribution is attached first. It is as smooth as is possible by linear interpolation from the binning you specified on input. I then converted the energy of every photon into wavelength and integer as per your code and obtained the second histogram attached. You can see that the distribution is no longer smooth and there are steps. To have a smooth distribution of sampled wavelength one would have to sample the wavelength instead of the energy.
