Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.

Somebody asked me by email yesterday (I lost the email) if one should expect the Cerenkov photon simulation to depend on the step size. I would expect not statistically as far as detector response is concerned. However, individual events will certainly be different not only because Cerenkov photos originate rectilinear along different step segments, but the initial and final velocities will also be different and hence the number of photons generated during the step. Also, in the case Cerenkov photons are produced inside a magnetic field, the rectilinear approximation must be kept in mind for helical tracks.
