Instead of coding:

runManager->SetUserInitializetion(new QGSP_BIC_HP);

which forces you to use QGSP_BIC_HP as it is written,

> so, ideally I want the hadron interactions provided by QGSP_BIC_HP AND have

> scintillation with defined optical photon interactions.

you should follow /examples/extended/fields/field04/F04PhysicsList.cc

(or modify it to activate/deal only wiht HadronPhysicsQGSP_BIC_HP)
