Question PMT hits

Forum: Processes Involving Optical Photons
Date: 09 Apr, 2009
From: Clarisse <Clarisse>

Dear Peter,

I resolved the "segmentation fault" problem. My code now compiles and runs well. It seems to do everything well (energy deposition and optical photon generation and propagation). However NONE of those optical photons get labeled as "Detected" at my photocathode interface.

For instance, I threw a 662 keV gamma at my NaI: 662 keV was deposited; 25085 optical photons generated (42 Cerenkov, 25043 scintillation), of those 1273 were absorbed at by the PMT, 0 absorbed by the scintillator, 0 were detected by the PMT, and 23812 went "unaccounted for".

I followed LXe and your advice in the way that I manually generate a PMT hit. Yet, something is off: I do not actually get any hits in the PMT.

What am I doing wrong? (the relevant files are attached).
