Question Hadrontherapy with a heavy ion?

Keywords: Hadrontherapy heavy ion particle enrgy loss problem
Forum: Medical Applications

From: Nami Saito <>

I would like to simulate energy deposit in water with a heavy ion beam
like a 12C.
I tried to use Hadrontherapy example and changed the beam by,
/gun/particle ion
/gun/ion 6 12 6
But I got segmentation violation on the first step.

Light ions works up to alpha.
Physics were added:

/physics/addPhysics electron-eedl

/physics/addPhysics positron-standard
/physics/addPhysics ion-LowE
#/physics/addPhysics ion-standard
#/physics/addPhysics ion
/physics/addPhysics muon-standard
/physics/addPhysics decay
/physics/addPhysics proton-precompound

I have added IonPhysics by taking from A01 and TestEm7, but it does not work..
Can someone tell me how I should do?
