Question How use phase space files as input?

Forum: Medical Applications
Date: 24 Feb, 2015
From: Brian <Brian>

I am using the medical linac 2 example of Geant4 10.00.p02. I am aware that there is patch 3 available as well as 10.1 but because of how my university's computing system is set up, I cannot upgrade easily and would prefer to stick with 10.00.p02 if possible.

I have run simulations and received phase space and ROG files with the following relevant lines in the .mac file:

/primaryParticleData/sourceTypeName randomTarget

/primaryParticleData/calculatedPhaseSpaceFileIN PhSp_Acc1_1.txt

However, when I run the simulation, it tells me "ERROR phase space file: PhSp_Acc1_1.txt NOT found. Run abort". I have put the input file in the same directory as the .mac file. Is this the right place? I assume it is because I do not get the same error if I set the calculatedPhaseSpaceFileIN without the .txt file extension. However, in this case, I keep getting many instances of the following error:

-------- EEEE ------- G4Exception-START -------- EEEE -------
*** G4Exception : TRACK003
      issued by : G4ParticleChange::CheckIt
momentum, energy, and/or time was illegal
*** Event Must Be Aborted ***
-------- EEEE -------- G4Exception-END --------- EEEE -------

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you!
