Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. The advanced Medical Linac example doesn’t simulate a real linear accelerator because the technical characteristics are under copyright. However a linear accelerator invented on the basis of a real one is given (‘acc1’). Consequently each user interested in more realistic results should create his own accelerator. Nevertheless, the data arising from the example give an idea of the PDD. as it is also possible to see graphing the data of the file ‘http://hypernews.slac.stanford.edu/HyperNews/geant4/get/AUX/2010/10/06/05.30-49966-EXP_seed_1.m’ (see attached files). The section has not a flat shape very probably due to the flattening filter simulated. Finally about 0.25% (53397 accumulated histories) of the 21464080 primary electrons contributed to the dose release in both the PDD and section curves. This efficiency is lower than in the true case and again it probably depends on the flattening filter simulated.
