None Windows Vista?

Forum: Installation and Configuration

Has anybody been able to run a Geant4 program on Windows Vista? Mine "stops working" with event name APPCRASH.

In debugging it, I found that this works on Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows Xp, but NOT on Vista (same executable as on Xp):

    G4String a, b;
    // set a and b to sensible values
    a += b + "\n";

This indicates that Vista's runtime libraries for VC++ are broken.

I gave up when it crashed in G4RunManager::Initialize().

I am building my Windows program using cygwin, gnu make, and VC++ express edition 2005 with the MS Platform SDK. I build on Windows Xp. This program runs fine on Max OS X, Linux, and Windows Xp.
