Did you run a completely fresh build in the last step, i.e. in an empty build directory with no existing CMakeCache.txt file? If not, CMake probably used the cache to pick up the old version.

Otherwise, do you have (DY)LD_LIBRARY_PATH or similar set? What does otool -L /path/to/yourprogram show (or ldd if this isn't macOS!)?
