None cmake produces error when using geant4 installation folder on Ubuntu 16.04

Forum: Installation and Configuration

We recently installed ROOT and Geant4 on Ubuntu 16.04. ROOT was downloaded as binary from official website. Geant4 source code was downloaded and extracted to /home//userone/Download/geant4.10.03.p01. Then we compiled it in another folder /home/userone/Download/geant4.10.03.p01-build. Then, we used "sudo make install" to install geant4 to /opt/geant4.10.03.p01.

Now we developed a MC program and in it, we used ROOT to save data. The program is in /home/userone/camera and we try to build it in /home/userone/camera-build.

In the CMakefile.txt, we used ROOT macro, ROOT_GENERATE_DICTIONARY. If we compile the program by

cmake -DGeant4_DIR=/home/userone/Download/geant4.10.03.p01-build ../camera

cmake works well.

If we used the installation,

cmake -DGeant4_DIR=/Opt//geant4.10.03.p01/lib/Geant4.10.03.p01 ../camera

cmake complains about an error, saying ROOT_GENERATE_DICTIONARY is unknown.

Please help us with any possible solutions. Thanks.

Bill
