Question Installing GEANT4 on Mac OS/X (EL Capitan)

Forum: Installation and Configuration
Date: 08 Mar, 2016
From: Maura E.M. <Maura E.M.>

 Dear Experts,

I have to learnt GEANT4. I downloaded the source code from http://geant4.web.cern.ch/geant4/support/download.shtml. Unluckily the compilation require cmake 3.3 or later.

I downloaded cmake from https://cmake.org/download/ There is a .dmg file for mac which downloaded a folder called CMke into the /Applications directory If I click on the CMake icon (in /Applications) a windows pops up asking for the source code path and the binaries path. If I type "which cmake" in a terminal window I can see that cmake is not found. So I am stuck here. How can I get the cmake executable in my $PATH ? For instance if I type "which make" I get /usr/bin/make

Thank you in advance for your help,

 Best regards,

         Maura
