Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it does not work, and still crashes in the call to G4RandGauss::setFlag(false), just as before. At a breakpoint just before the crash it still says set_st is true(255), in the class CLHEP::RandGauss.

Revised test program (same CMakeLists.txt and build tools):
//      RandGaussTest.cc
#include <stdio.h>
#include "Randomize.hh"
int main()
{
        fprintf(stderr,"A\n");
        G4RandGauss::setFlag(false);
        fprintf(stderr,"B\n");
        return 0;
}

I neither need nor want multi-threading. How do I turn it off on Windows? How do I turn it off on Mac (Darwin)? How do I turn it off on Linux?

Why isn't multithreading an option when I run CMake?

BTW I built exampleB1 and it runs just fine; it uses G4UniformRand(). When I add a line "G4RandGauss::setFlag(false);" at the start of main, it crashes there. Ditto when I move it to the end of main.

So this is not just my code.
