Question Problems installing Geant4 on windows 7

Forum: Installation and Configuration
Date: 21 Mar, 2014
From: Lars Jorgensen <Lars Jorgensen>

I am trying to install geant4 on a windows 7 machine and I started by installing Visual Studio 2012 yesterday. Today I downloaded and installed CMake I downloaded and unpacked the geant4 zip-file and followed the method I found on

In CMake I have as 'Where is the source code': .../Geant4/geant4_10_00_p01 For 'Where to build the binaries' I have: .../Geant4/geant4.10.00.p01-build

So far so good and as far as I can see exactly according to the description in the userguide. Under Configure I set it to use Visual Studio 2012 and Use defaults native compilers. However, I immediatedly get a bunch of errors:

CMake Error: CMake was unable to find a build program corresponding to "Visual Studio 12". CMAKE_MAKE_PROGRAM is not set. You probably need to select a different build tool.
CMake Error: Could not find cmake module file: .../Geant4/geant4.10.00.p01-build/CMakeFiles/
CMake Error: Could not find cmake module file: .../Geant4/geant4.10.00.p01-build/CMakeFiles/
Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!

I have tried a few work arounds for this but none of them have yielded any useful results. I seems to me like it does not even find VS2012, but VS2012 runs fine in stand alone mode. I am currently a bit stuck here!!

Any suggestions?
