Good evening Ben Thank you for your answer.

well, I'm trying to install Geant4.9.4p01 (source) on An Ubuntu 12.04 machine.

That's exactly how I installed Geant4:

>mkdir clhep
>cd clhep
>mv ~/Desktop/clhep-2.0.4.7-src.tgz .
>tar xvfz clhep-2.0.4.7-src.tgz
>ls 2.0.4.7/CLHEP
>mkdir build
>mkdir install
>cd build
>../2.0.4.7/CLHEP/configure --prefix=/root/geant4/clhep/install
>make
>make install
>cd ~/geant4
>cp "all data files" .
>tar xzf "all data file"
>mkdir install
>cd geant4.9.4p01
>./Configure -build

Here begin my troubles.

What is shown on my screen is:

"Starting build Cleaning up: /root/geant4/geant4.9.4/.config/bin/linux-g++/g4make.log building global libraries... GNUmakefiles:20:/root/geant4/geant4.9.4/.config/architecture.gmk:no such file or directory make:***no rule to make target </root/geant4/geant4.9.4/.config/architecture.gmk>.Stop."

Thank you for your help
