Question Having Trouble Installing Geant4.9.5.p02 - CMake Issues

Forum: Installation and Configuration
Date: 08 Nov, 2012
From: Ben Hug <Ben Hug>

Hi ALl,

Still having no luck on installing geant4.9.5.p.02 on RedHat V6.3

Have extracted the tar file correctly and created a directory /root/Geant4Simulations/geant4.9.5.p02

Have created a build directory in /root/Geant4Simulations/geant4.9.5-build

Have then ran the following section of code which produces the error in Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/gg --broken

Have tried a few package installs suggested on internet forums but to no avail..

[root@sci-phynix-001 Geant4Simulations]# cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL-PREFIX=/root/Geant4Simulations/geant4.9.5-install /root/Geant4Simulations/geant4.9.5.p02
-- The C compiler identification is GNU

-- Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/gcc -- broken
