Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. If you are only interested in one thread or the thread following a specific posting, click the thread or the posting, which takes you to a smaller page, which contains only the part you are interested in and may be easier to navigate.
Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.
Inline: Display the subject line only or also the text of the posting(s); for the choice "All" the "Outline" choices are switched off.
|1||0||1||no text / full text of posting|
|2||1||All||text for level 1 only / text for All postings|
Outline: Choose the depth of the posting thread, successive toggle controls provide increasing detail.
|1||2||1||2 levels / 1 level (original posting)|
|2||3||2||3 levels / 2 levels|
|3||3||All||3 levels / all levels (all postings)|
The message you have received there is what you should normally get after a successful build of Geant4. If you can run source env.sh or an appropriate command for your system and you get no problems, then you should be ok. Note that this is something you will have to do each time you want to use Geant4; it sets up all the 'environment variables' which tell the compiler where it can find everything it needs to run a Geant4 program.
I found installing Geant4 a little troublesome when I first started (about two years ago) as the online documentation seemed to a little poor and unclear. I found the following course particularly helpful...
Go straight to the Geant4 Installation section and it will walk you through the whole process and show you have to test that everything is running correctly.
Then, the easiest way to check that it is all working correctly is to run one of the example programs. Go to the same web link as above and click on 'Novice examples,' and follow the instructions through. If everything runs as it should, then you're probably sorted.
If you do get any error messages, search them online; no doubt someone else will have had the same problem as you. Failing that, post on here or send me a message and I'll see if I can get you sorted.
