I am having trouble getting the Geant 4 Open GL working on my system. First my operating system is RedHat 5.4 64 bit. Second, I was able to build Geant 4 (version 4.9.0 because my compiler is gcc 4.1.2), while selecting the OpenGL and RayTracing options in the build process. I set my relevant 'OGLLIBS' and 'X11LIBS' environment variables to
export OGLLIBS=-L/usr/lib64 -lGLU -lGL and export X11LIBS=-L/usr/lib64 -lXmu -lXt -lXext -lX11 -lSM -lICE
My X-windows seem to be set properly, too ('xclock' produces a working clock). Further I am able to run the 'A01app' executable successfully. When I do the following:
Idle> /vis/open OGLIX
I get the following response echoed to the screen:
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) Major opcode of failed request: 1 (X_CreateWindow) Serial number of failed request: 27 Current serial number in output stream: 34
So I am at a quandary here with respect to opening a viewer. I've noticed some postings that address certain aspects of Open GL, but after going through the complete build one more time (thinking I have made an error), I am conceding to asking help from this forum. Any help with resolving this dilemma would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.
