Question Running an example under Cygwin

Forum: Installation and Configuration
Date: 19 Apr, 2010
From: Carlos Ayerbe Gayoso <Carlos Ayerbe Gayoso>

Recently I installed Geant 4.9.3 in my laptop, running Vista 64bits in cygwin, with visual C++ 2008 express edition (its supposed to be VC9, in fact the folder is Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0) following the instructions of the web page. Geant (and CLHEP) was installed sucessfully (no errors at the end message). Also I instaled xerces-c and opengl without any known errors.

Then I copied the examples in my work directory (g4work), I compiled the example N01 and N03, and the compilations give no errors, and the executables in g4work/bin/WIN-32/ were created. But when I want to run one of then I got the message

bash: ./exampleN01: Permission denied

I changed all permissions under cygwin (chmod +r +x +w) under windows (full control to all users, to the folder and the file, just in case) and nothing happens.

I don't know what else to check, so any suggestion is welcome.

Thank you
