When I try configuring CLHEP 126.96.36.199, where I expected the output to read: >> checking for C++ compiler default output file name... conftest.exe
Instead I get: >>checking for C++ compiler default output file name... configure: error: C >>compiler cannot create executables
Has this something to do with my visual studio C++ setup (unfortunately I did not check the log)? I got this message when I had Visual C++ Pro 6 installed.
I removed Visual C++ Pro 6 and installed Visual Studio 2005 and I did not get this error.
However now when I build Geant4_9_3 at the end of my installation I get a message saying there have been some errors during installation. My computer has been on all the time (hard disks, screen and no standby). I have attached a screen shot of my cygwin window, note the highlighted text.
