Forum: Installation and Configuration

From: Mark Looper <Mark Looper>

I snapped up a copy of version 9.3 as soon as it was available, and installed it on a couple of Mac OS X machines, one running 10.5.8 and the other running 10.6.2. In both cases, the g4make.log file had several error messages of the form

make[1]: *** No rule to make target `/Users/looper/geant4.9.3/tmp/Darwin-g++/G4[something]/obj.last', needed by `/Users/looper/geant4.9.3/lib/Darwin-g++/libG4[something_else].dylib'. Stop.
make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....

In the release notes for this version, I find that "There may be a few compilation warnings on some platforms. We do not believe that any of these lead to incorrect run-time behaviour." Does this set of errors fall under this disclaimer? It looks more serious than that to me, but at the end of the file I still see the hoped-for "Libraries installation completed !" and the Configure script says "Your Geant4 installation seems to be successful!"
