Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. If you are only interested in one thread or the thread following a specific posting, click the thread or the posting, which takes you to a smaller page, which contains only the part you are interested in and may be easier to navigate.
Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.
Inline: Display the subject line only or also the text of the posting(s); for the choice "All" the "Outline" choices are switched off.
|1||0||1||no text / full text of posting|
|2||1||All||text for level 1 only / text for All postings|
Outline: Choose the depth of the posting thread, successive toggle controls provide increasing detail.
|1||2||1||2 levels / 1 level (original posting)|
|2||3||2||3 levels / 2 levels|
|3||3||All||3 levels / all levels (all postings)|
Hello Jorge, You do not mention which C++ compiler you plan to use for your application. If you are using, or plan to use, Visual C++ Express 2008, please note that installing that software gives you everything you need to compile and link a Geant4 application. You do not need to explicitly install or configure any additional software such as the SDK since that is done for you as part of the installation. Once you have installed Visual C++ Express 2008 and configured your environment by calling the file: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools\vsvars32.bat" you should receive an informational message such as: "Setting environment for using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 x86 tools." The compiler should now be in your path, which you can test explicitly by typing: > cl /? On my PC, I get: > Microsoft (R) 32-bit C/C++ Optimizing Compiler Version 15.00.21022.08 for 80x86 > Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. followed by the compiler options. You should now be able to download and install the Geant4 toolkit (don't forget CLHEP). Note that you also get the Visual Studio IDE for free with the Visual C++ 2008 Express installation, so you could either build your application against the prebuilt libraries, or build them yourself using a Visual Studio solution and project files. Good Luck, Norman Graf
