I had not updated my Cygwin installation, and the versions reported did not seem to correspond to the problem versions listed on the webpage.

I had neither tcsh nor wget installed in cygwin, so I ran the cygwin setup to install them. It also updated zillions of other packages. Now I have the problem versions, so I restored old versions of make and bash (as in the webpage).

Same result: ./Configure -build gives "File not found - *.SH". The manipulations in "Configure" are obscure, but definitely involve ".SH".

As a test, I unpacked a fresh version of geant4.8.3 (which I have built in this environment before), and tried Configure -build. Now it fails the same as geant4.9.1.p01. I have no idea what changed, and am flummoxed.

Any other suggestions?
