Dear Esteban,

>The draw of this two situations is the same but, are there some
>differene in terms of sensitive detector?

(1)
The first condition has two boxes (BOX1 and BOX2) in the world volume.

(2)
And the second condition has one box (BOX1) in the world volume,
but there is another box (BOX2) inside the first box (BOX1).

In both condition, the BOX1 is the sensitive detector.

As you wrote, the geometrical condition is same.
And, at the point of the sensitive detector, the both conditions are basically same.

Only the difference in (2) is that you may see some zero step-length ( and zero dE)
at the geometry boundary between World-BOX1, BOX1-BOX2 as follows.
Because the sensitive detector (SD) is attached to BOX1.
The SD may be called at the boundaries ( BOX1, BOX2, World).

       World
----------- <------- For example, here. It will limit a step
  ----------- for each World-Box1, Box1-Box2. ( zero gap )
       BOX2
  -----------
       BOX1
  -----------

>Will the box2 become sensitive in situation number 2?

 No.
A SD is attached to a LogicalVolume. In (2), when particles come into the BOX2, they only know
they are in BOX2. Therefore, the SD attached to BOX1 is not called.
If you need to score the BOX2 too, you have to attach a SD in BOX2 too. It may be the same SD
object or you may insatiate another SD object from same class ( or different SD class. )

>Is the material of box2 maintained when i put it inside box1?

 Yes.
The material of daughter volume will be maintained. It is the existence of BOX2.

Best regards,
Tsukasa
