None Ion Collision Cross Section Sets

Forum: Hadronic Processes

In the HIIonLEP.cc file of the physics list for the hadrontherapy example they add both the TripathiCrossSection and the IonsShenCrossSection like this :

G4TripathiCrossSection* ionTripathiCrossSection = new G4TripathiCrossSection; G4IonsShenCrossSection* ionShenCrossSection = new G4IonsShenCrossSection;

alphaInelasticProcess -> AddDataSet(ionTripathiCrossSection); alphaInelasticProcess -> AddDataSet(ionShenCrossSection);

Since both of these cross sections cover the energy range of hadron therapy, what is the effect of adding both cross section sets? Are they averaged? Is there an internal process for deciding between the two?
