But as far as I understood the code, LHEP_PRECO_HP physic list is already 
using Starndart EmPhysik:
//In HOME/geant4/physics_lists/hadronic/LHEP_PRECO_HP/include/LHEP_PRECO_HP.icc
 // EM Physics
  this->RegisterPhysics( new G4EmStandardPhysics("standard EM",ver));

I don't think that it is the em-physics which is slowing things down, but the many neutron collisions (depositing almost no energy)at low energy before the neutron is captured. I hoped that there would be a possiblility to cut neutron for example at 0.1eV, simulate diffusion and force capture. If there is no such possibility, where can I start learning to introduce this myself? Sylvia
