The file z90.a231 seems to have a "bad" entry for one of the transitions. The transition from the level 2.05309e+02 -> 1.85714e+02 emitting a 1.9595e+01 (keV) gamma ray has 0.000e+02 for the gamma-ray intensity. The internal converstion coefficient for that transition (as listed in the latest ENSDF file) is 1.0E+04. (In the z90.a231 it is given as 6.19, which is also wrong). Because of this huge internal conversion coefficient, 82.4% of the transitions of this level (at 205.3 keV) are to the level at 185.7 keV. By putting 0 for the gamma intensity of 19.59 keV gamma, (instead of what I calculate should be 0.120) Geant4 produces no feeding from the 205 keV level to the 186 keV level. As a consequence, a simulation of the radioactive decay of U235, produces a gamma-ray intensity of the 186 keV gamma ray of 3.48%, instead of the observed number of 57.2%.
I'd hate to change the PhotonEvaporation data files by hand, but I can't think of anything else to do until the files are updated. Any suggestions?
Has anyone else out tried to produce a U235 spectrum with GEANT?
