Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. Thanks for your message.
When I used the same Mac file you thankfully attached here and the Hadr03 source files (Geant4.10.5), I was able to reproduce the same results as you generated, as shown in the first fig. The fig ,recoilEnergyHydrogen2p45MeVDeuterons.pdf, looks fine since qualitatively it sounds like a combination of its cross section and angular distribution for 2.45 MeV neutrons.
However, when I run another simulation by replacing deuterium with hydrogen as the material, I got a confusing fig as the attachment of recoilEnergyHydrogen2p45MeVNeutrons.pdf. Presumably, the recoil spectrum is supposed be a flat line like curve ranging from 0 all the way up to 2.45 MeV, since the angular distribution of 2.45 neutrons on hydrogen is evenly distributed among all angles.
Any thoughts / comments are welcome.
