Question Nuclear recoil in neutron elastic scattering

Forum: Hadronic Processes
Date: 07 Mar, 2018
From: Marco Selvi <Marco Selvi>

Hi, In G4.10.3, how can I “force" G4 to produce explicitly the nuclear recoil after a neutron elastic scattering ?

I see that most of the time the energy is deposited by the neutron itself via the hadElastic process, without the generation and tracking of a recoiling nucleus.

I already saw this behaviour in G4.9.5, but it happened only for energy deposits < 1 keV, while now I see it also for ~MeV recoil energy.

How can I set this “energy threshold” for the NR production ?

Thanks ! Marco
