Question Step-like structure in tritium beta spectrum

Dear Geant4 experts,

Iím using Geant4 10.2p1 with RDM, G4EmStandardPhysics_option4, and this modification (http://hypernews.slac.stanford.edu/HyperNews/geant4/get/hadronprocess/1538/1/1.html) to simulate the beta decay of tritium in silicon.

Unexpected, the spectrum of deposited energies shows a regular, step-like structure; each step roughly 200eV wide, see attached figures. Iím not aware of any physical reason for such a behaviour.

Iím suspecting an artefact, maybe caused by the binning of some underlying physics data table. Any hint how to obtain a smooth spectrum would be greatly appreciated.
