The 3He(n,p) reaction at high energies is reverting to the world volume, in my instance air, and giving me energy deposition as such for neutrons starting outside the 3He. If the neutron starts in 3He, however, the correct energy deposition is observed. I attached a plot of energy deposition for a 10x10x10 cm cube of 3He sitting inside a meter cube of air for neutrons starting inside the 3He and outside.
Description of test: -Air is the world and 3He is the daughter. -QGSP_BERT_HP for the physics list. -Pencil neutron beam inward facing at 1 Mev. -One beam 0.01 cm inside cube, one 0.01 cm outside. -10^7 neutrons.
So far, no one in my group can figure this out. However, they have duplicated it. Any help/advice as to what may be causing this is greatly appreciated.
