1. As far as I know, Am-Be source is usually a mixture of Am- and Be- oxides. So, the material density is lower than density of pure chemical elements. That, of course, affects the alpha-particle transport through the material.
2. G4TENDL library does not include (a,n)-reaction cross-section for berilliym, only total inelastic cross-section is present.
