I'm trying to simulate the neutron energy spectrum of an Am-Be neutron source, so basically the reaction 9Be(alpha,n)12C.
I defined a (64mm)³ Cube of 9Be, use /gps in my .mac to place 241Am inside the cube and let it decay. I will attach the PhysicsList.cc that is in use. This simulation is placed inside a bigger project, so some of the PhysicsList should not be relevant for this problem.
After ~80 million runs I get a neutron energy spectrum that does not show the characteristic peaks of the real source (pictures attached).
Any help to improve the simulation is greatly appreciated!
