Question Proton nuclear reaction in micrometer silicon box

Hello, I am relatively new programmer trying to simulate 40 MeV proton beam on a square box with length of 1 um made up of silicon.

I am trying to get following informations:

1. Total energy deposited 2. All secondary particles produced and their energies

I have been using the Hadr06 example code from Extended examples with modified detectormessenger file.

My question is, when I simulate at length of 1mm for example, I get secondary particles produced such as alpha, proton, gamma, and other elements but at 1 um length I seem to get almost no secondary particles produced and only some with over 10,000 protons fired.

Can a experienced user confirm for me these results is correct or if I should modify the code for more accurate results.

Any help or input would be great. Thank you.
